The kennel

Our small border collie kennel settled near Kortrijk (West Flanders) and run by Christa is approved by KMSH/SRSH and FCI and is a member of Belgian Border Collie Club.

One border collie show bitch was the start of the BoCo virus infection in 2005. Besides showing and its training, we pay attention to the original nature of the breed: herding sheep.

Before expanding our activities, we took for granted to follow the two year course of dog breeding at Syntra.
The graduation as dog breeder results in an added value for our dogs and the kennel; namely we pursue a specific breeding policy, we take well care of our dogs, we inform interested people about our purpose,...
As you can see theory has been put into practise.

We have chosen an English kennel name because of the English dog breed.
'Lowlands of Lys' is based on the river Lys (French/English) or Leie (Dutch) of which source is in Lisbourg, France. Passing through our village Waregem it flows into the river Scheldt in Ghent, Belgium. Historically the valley of Lys was famous for the spinning and weaving of flax and was therefore known as the Golden River. The region of Lys used to be a favourite place for numerous painters in the first half of the twentieth century, where they developed their artistic talent with passion.

With the same devotion and love for our pets we breed quality instead of quantity. Furthermore our criteria lie within health, character, handsomeness and working capability for sportive recreants.

Man's best friend has always been a large part of our life and now we occupy ourselves intensively with our beloved breed. While Steven sets up and updates our website, and takes care of the logistic support and of part of the lessons (obedience, showing, …), Christa spends most of the time caring for them: they all get daily attention, activities and recreation.

Obviously we look for the best possible opportunities for their puppies as well, for they can't stay all due to lack of space. Because of this we sometimes are in search of a solution to place in a sweet home a pup that we find interesting in order to expand our blood lines.
If you feel like it, please contact us for a visit and an informal talk.

Best regards,
Christa & Steven
